About the Conference

The celebration of World Pulses Day on 10 February each year reinforces global and national efforts towards advancing research and development in pulses. To commemorate this occasion in 2026, the Indian Society of Pulses Research and Development (ISPRD), in collaboration with the ICAR–Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is organizing the National Conference on “Pulses, Planet and People: Sustainable Livelihood and Nutritional Security under Changing Climate Scenario”. This conference will bring together stakeholders to deliberate on themes such as accelerating genetic gains through conventional and modern breeding tools, NextGen omics, biotic and abiotic stress management, climate-smart practices, regenerative agriculture and carbon-neutral farming, farm mechanization, post-harvest processing, value addition, and strategies for improving farmers’ livelihoods through greater integration of pulses. The event aims to foster national/international collaboration, enhance awareness of the benefits of pulses, and chart pathways for boosting their production and productivity to achieve self-sufficiency in pulses.
